This plug is designed for emission testing through a specified OBDii connector.  The OBDii spec only defines a few of the pins, leaving many open to individual manufacturers.  Porsche uses these spare pins for other functions when utilizing the PST2 computer.  Below is a list of the functions, some of which might not be on your car.  The connector is located near your left knee, directly under the dashboard.
